Desire Lab offers visiting artists low cost creative residencies from one day to one month. Artists working in the performing, visual, digital, written and other arts are welcome to apply. (While we do not provide materials, our space can accommodate artists working in most mediums.)

Individual artists and duos are invited to stay for up to one month, while groups of three or more can be accommodated for up to one week. Locals are also invited to make use of the space for focused creative retreats - to step out of the daily grind and into a world of possibility without traveling far from home.

If staying for a week or more, we ask that artists find a way to invite the local community into conversation about what they are investigating. This could take the form of an informal conversation, open studio, works in progress showing, class, workshop, performance, etc. Those staying for a week or more are also asked to contribute 4 hours per week to helping care for the spaces and land.

Residents are provided shared access to full kitchen and bath, wi-fi, a large multi-use studio space (The Lab), and a medium sized movement/sound space (The Studio). There is a private bedroom which can accommodate one or two people, and an open loft area which provides additional living space and sleeping space for larger groups.

Residents are asked to contribute towards the costs of offering and maintaining the Desire Lab spaces.
